In bad news: Transgender rights under attack: health protections reversed by Trump admin during Pride month (on the anniversary of the Pulse massacre) and during the same week two black trans women were murdered, and J.K. Rowling's anti-trans rights comments. Also, the police state on full display in D.C., one of the cops who killed Breonna Taylor allegedly has a history of assaulting women while on duty, and COVID cases spike in many states

In good news: In the last two weeks, American voters' support for the Black Lives Matter movement increased almost as much as it had in the preceding two years, New York State legislature votes to repeal Law 50-A that shields police from scrutiny, NYC Council leadership backs proposal to cut $1 billion from NYPD budget (Reminder: their current budget is $6 billion), Confederate statues are coming down all over the country, and NASCAR bans the Confederate flag
